Hakone Japanese Cusine

I wanted to like this place. Unfortunately the food was just not up to snuff. Pricey to boot. I don't mind paying for good food.. but this stuff was microwaved. :| I heard the closing of the microwave door to the "DING" when my boyfriends food game out. It was horrible. Neither of us finished our meal. The service was pleasant, but unfortunately did not make up for the food. Perhaps it's because there are not enough employees, (I only saw one woman working and serving us), and that is why she is trying to cut corners - having to do everything herself? I hope this restaurant undergoes some transformation because I would really love to have an authentic Japanese restaurant near by home to visit. Will check in again in the future to see if there are any improvements.

Was lacking in service. Food was good though

This restaurant has gone downhill. Had a few pieces of nigiri and the fish was weirdly slimy. The sushi rice was hard. My SO got really sick afterwards. Good thing there’s other better options in the city for sushi, this place is definitely not one of them.
